Quality Engineer (injection moulding)
ROLE
To ensure that our customers quality requirements are conveyed to the shop floor and to prompt corrective actions in the event of problems arising which may comprise out-going quality levels.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITY
1. To ensure that all Operators on the shop floor are provided with the necessary information, facilities and the training to ensure that the parts they produce meet the requirements of our customers.
2. To liase with relevant personnel in order to initiate prompt corrective actions in the event of a problem being highlighted either on-site or at our customers location.
3. To provide an off-site quality liaison service for problem resolution.
4. To undertake full and detailed “first-off” inspections and taking appropriate action when necessary.
5. To ensure the requirements of the control plan are accurate.
6. To maintain documentation in line with the Company quality system and to ensure compliance with the 2nd and 3rd party requirements.
7. To facilitate and maintain S.P.C. on the shop-floor for all specified jobs and to report on the findings and initiating any process changes where necessary.
8. To maintain a record of production that has been quarantined and to initiate the process of disposition.
9. To complete the I.S.I.R’s for submission to customers along with any relevant comments or conclusions when required.
10. To undertake goods inwards inspections to Company standards on all relevant parts.

QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
Experience in a quality role within a ISO 9001 manufacturing company
Understanding of Excel and Word
Good communications and influencing skills
The ability to think analytically and make logical decisions
Flexible and adaptable
Attention to detail
DESIRABLE
C.M.M Ability – 1st principles C & G 743 Pt 1 and 2
Mechanical/Optical Measuring
Drawing Interpretation
S.P.C.
HOURS
4 weeks training on day shift, and then to move onto night shift:
22.00pm to 06:15am 4 days a week – 32 hours per week - need to be flexible as occasionally may have to work longer to cover holidays.
RATE
Initial hourly rate for nights is £10.71 to be reviewed after 6 months
