Performing first off, intermediate and final dimensional and finish inspections and supporting the requirements for documenting and maintaining records including numerical control associated with these activities (routing)
Carry out thorough inspection prior to treatment
Inspection, verification and certification of materials.
Communicating discrepancies to production operatives and reviewing rectified work.
Where discrepancies cannot be handled by simple intervention with the production operators; escalating discrepancies for Director to investigate.
Conducting and preparing digital & electronic First Article Inspection Reports.
Produce inspection programs for CMM (after training if required)
Carry out Source inspection (DSQR) requirements for GE (after training)
Ensure ISO9001 certification is upheld.
3-5 years’ AEROSPACE experience on precision engineering inspection
Able to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings.
Experience using hand held measuring equipment including: verniers, callipers, micrometers, screw and plug gauges
Experience using Microscope etc, inc Shadowgraph
Experience working within a QMS to ISO9001 minimum.
Numerate & Accurate
Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with all levels of staff
Basic knowledge of relevant British and international standards
Non essential but Preferred
Experience using/programming CMM (PC-DMIS) height gauges etc
IT skills (Microsoft Office Word Excel and Access plus familiarity with process control software Ideally Sage Manufacturing.
Experience using Roundness machine.
