The Company is developing the first viable automated picking robot for glasshouse vegetables. You’ll be helping to make that a reality as our “boots-on-the-ground” with customers and lead a small team of robot operators. Full & ongoing training provided!
Operating The Company’s latest robotic harvesters within glasshouses both locally and remotely.Ensuring produce is delivered to a high standard to handover to the customer
General maintenance of robots and machineryCommunicate and escalate any difficulties encountered with remote and onsite teams in a timely manner
Cleaning robots and tidying work areas, and monitoring stock/parts/equipment
Moving trolleys around the greenhouse and surrounding area (both remote control, assisted and physically)
Completing various checklists (end of day etc.)
Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during day-to-day operation to maintain quality and minimise unplanned downtime
Accurate reporting on metrics collected in the field (e.g. crop state)
Assisting teams with minor repair or modification work.
Working closely with the client to adhere to harvesting schedules.
Maintenance and upkeep of site network
Organising robotic operators and making sure the robots are running to max capacity.
First point of contact with the client.
To ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to and maintained.
Could have (beyond must haves below) experience:
Operating machinery remotely.
Worked in the greenhouse industry
Manufacturing/machinery/robotics background (a strong plus).
Experience in networking (Ubiquiti systems)
Drive to move career upward to manage and train teams.
Work will frequently involve operating machinery from a workstation, and sometimes preparing customer produce to meet their expectations. The job will require manoeuvring wheeled equipment manually, so some bending over & pushing is required. The environment may be humid and hot.
You will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Furthermore, you need to prove you have the right to work in the UK.
This is a full-time, permanent position and you will be required on-site for 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (excluding 1hr unpaid lunch break). Flexibility will be needed for shift work (as we operate over a 24/7 period in the future) – compensation will be adjusted for anti-social hours etc.
